This made me giggle a little. HA! I sort of love it though...
Oh yeah... it needs a transmission too. May as well make one from scratch, right?

Everything you need to know about Early Hemis
So a couple years ago when I REALLY started getting obsessed with early Hemis I got really tired of fishing through the mountains of information on the web looking for everything from casting ID numbers to what intake manifolds are available. So, I figured what the hell... let's get something compiled of all the information. Sort of a one-stop-shop for Early Hemi information. It includes information on early Chrysler, DeSoto, and Dodge Hemi motors, even some early Poly motor and Daimler Hemi information, but I think it was pretty obvious that the majority of the info compiled is for Chrysler Hemis (1951 to 1958/331 thru 392). Hopefully we can increase the info on the other makes.
With the help of the HAMB and Jalopy Journal I was able to get a large amount of experienced Hemi builders to come fourth and share their knowledge on these wonderful engines of the Mopar world. Legendary engines, in my opinion. If you like them as much as I do and need more information for your own personal addictions and/or builds, check out the stock pile of information. And if you're a HAMBer and haven't tontributed to the information... well.. SHAME ON YOU!
Keep Hemis alive!

Stewart Warner offers 5" Gauges Again
Stewart Warner started offering their larger faced gauges again. They come in the standard block style with the SW logo (DLX) and are offered with the traditional "Wings" logo. Prices are a little on the steep side, but Summit Racing can get them them for a little better than most others. Some of them have a 4-week lead time.
5-inches! Look at a CD/DVD... it's even BIGGER than that! COOL!
Let's hope that for the price they're getting, they're more immune to the quality problems they have with the others.

ROCKIN!
After tearing apart the rockers that I was going to use on this Hemi build, I found them to be pretty much trashed. Not sure if they can even be saved. Bummer! Bad maintenance on someone's part. HOWEVER! I bought another set of rockers awhile back just in case I ran into issues (just like this). Turns out they're in fabulous condition, shafts polished out nice ANNNND... the rocker arms have been smoothed out! No cast marks! Pretty cool! This was done to reduce stress risers. Anyway, pretty cool!
(camera is broken, taken with cell phone! GAH!)

Flyin'!
My flywheel showed up from Wilcap yesterday and I picked up my starter from rebuild on Saturday! Those were some much needed parts! Flywheel is a lightened steel unit that Pat made to order and even drilled it for the 1/2-20" crank bolts so it's ready to go! Can't wait to hear this Hemi! Still a few more parts to collect, but it won't be long now before it'll be breathing fire!
Thanks to Rick, for helpin' me out with finding a starter! Even more cool it has history!
